Yes, in most cases. I can still notarize foreign-language documents as long as I can properly identify the signer and that the signer understands what document they are signing.Please note that Mark is not bilingual and cannot translate document content or advise on its meaning. If you need translation services, Mark can provide a translator referral upon request.
In most cases - YES. I am happy to visit signers at hospitals, care facilities, or private residences. I handle these situations on a case-by-case basis. All signers must be present and of sound mind to sign their document. Please Note:Signers who are current residents of a registered Skilled Nursing Facility that want to complete any Power of Attorney with Advance Health Care Directives included MUST HAVE a Patient Advocate and/or Ombudsperson to witness the signing.When in doubt, contact me directly to discuss your specific situation.
No — Any notary who offers legal advice is overstepping their role. As a notary, my job is to verify identities and witness signatures. For questions about the content or implications of your documents, please consult a licensed attorney.
No — Only a Lawyer or Legal Document Assistant can draft legal documents for notarizing.If the signer needs help with drafting a document (i.e., Power of Attorney, Advance Health Care Directive, etc.), I will provide a referral to a licensed LDA upon request.
